I cannot print from the MP tray.

This can have many causes, the loaded paper may not match what is specified in the printer driver, the MP Tray is set to feed paper manually in the printer driver, or there’s no paper in the tray.

If none of these are your issue, Open the MP tray, and confirm that the paper detection sensor lever located on the right side of the paper feed roller is lowered. If this lever is not lowered, contact support.

When I print, the paper size or orientation is wrong, or the device does not feed from the tray as expected.

When the device prints on the wrong paper, confirm the following items.

Paper size dial settings

  • Confirm the display of the paper size dial (1) of the paper tray cassette.
  • If the setting is different from the size of the loaded paper, the paper size of the tray is falsely recognized and the device will not feed paper from the expected tray.
  • Set the paper size dial according to the size of the loaded paper.

MP Tray usage settings

  • Confirm the setting of [MP Tray Usage] in the device menu.
  • Change the setting according to your usage.

  • Is the ON/OFF setting of [Resize document to fit printer page] correct?

  • Are the paper size settings correct after resizing?

  • Is the ON/OFF setting of [Paper Check] correct?

When it is off (unchecked), no error occurs if the setting of [Paper Size] in the printer driver and that on the device does not match.

(For the PCL/XLS driver)

In the [Basic Settings] tab > [Paper Feed Options] > [Multi-purpose Settings] > [Long Edge Feed], is the ON/OFF setting correct?

Set it to ON/OFF according to the direction of the paper loaded on the MP tray of the device.

  • Direction of the paper loaded in the device

Check to see if the direction (portrait/landscape) of the paper loaded in the device is correct.

  • Print settings of the application software

Using the Crio LPR Utility.

With the Crio LPR Utility, you can set to maintain the connection with the original printer even if its IP address is changed.

If the printer is set to acquire its IP address automatically, the computer will no longer connect to it if the IP address changes when the power is turned on. Configuring this setting in such cases allows the automatically changed IP address to be discovered and set again.

When you are unable to print after turning on the power or after a power outage, the IP address may have been changed as noted above.

The following shows how to configure the setting for automatic rediscovery of a changed IP address.

Start the Crio LPR Utility.
Select [Setup…] from the [Option] menu, and check [Auto Reconnect].
